THIS IS AN ANTIQUE 100 YEAR OLD THRACIAN SARKOY KILIM, IT WAS MADE APPROXIMATELY 100 YEARS AGO (CIRCA 1890-1900) IT WAS MADE IN THE TOWN OF SARKOY (SHARKOY) IN THRACE, ON THE WESTERN BANK OF THE SEA OF MARMARA, A DOMINION OF THE OLD TURKISH OTTOMAN EMPIRE, SETTLED AND DISPUTED OVER EONS BY GREEKS, TURKS AND BULGARIAN MUSLIMS. IT IS HANDMADE ON A VERTICAL LOOM, AND IS MADE FROM HANDSPUN GOAT WOOL WHICH IS NATURALLY DYED. IT IS IN IMMACULATE CONDITION. IT WAS WOVEN FROM FIRST SPRING GOATS WOOL (LONG ACKNOWLEDGED AS THE BEST TENT COVERING) IT IS IN ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION, AND IS IMMACULATE, DEPICTING THE 'TREE OF LIFE' MOTIFWORK WITH A POMAGRANITE AND LEAF BORDER COLLAGE. THE BEAUTIFUL NATURAL 'CHERRY' OR CERISE DYEING ACCENTED BY BLACK, YELLOW AND FAINT INDIGO COMPLEMENT THIS KILIM WHICH HAS SURVIVED OVER 100 YEARS, PROPERLY CARED FOR IT WILL OUTLAST YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN ALSO.  THE FLORAL MOTIFWORK AND AND ARCHITECHTURAL DESIGN OF THIS KILIM, WITH ITS SLITWEAVE AND CURVILINEAR CONSTRUCTION ARE AUTHENTICALLY REGIONAL. IT WAS MADE IN Bulgaria OF SARKOY (SHARKOY) origins. IT IS TOTALLY HANDMADE AND IS MADE FROM HANDSPUN LAMBS WOOL WHICH IS NATURALLY (VEGETABLY) DYED. THIS STYLE OF THRACIAN IS COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS A 'GOCMEN' WHICH TRANSLATES FROM THE TURKIC AS 'IMMIGRANT' OR EVEN 'MIGRATORY'. IT IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION, PRISTINE AND AS SUCH DIFFICULT TO AGE, BUT PROBABLY MORE THAN 50 YEARS. AND YET, ITS COLORS ARE VIBRANT, EXCITING. VERY FEW OF THESE MASTERPIECES ARE MADE TODAY WHICH ARE AUTHENTIC.

Caucasian Kazak Kilim/Sumak.   Predominantly wonderfully impactive strong cerise colored field overlaid with a field repeat of latch-key medallions crafted with 'greek key' running dog border motifs and solidified with individual leaf patternations alternating colors in each motif but offset in their backgrounds with natural wool partially woven in the sumak style.  Totally vegetably dyed the colors in this rug are natural and grace this masterpiece of weaving today. Always sought after, this masterpiece of Kazak art, which is Circa 1960, is in totally immaculate condition, clearly having never been used at all, and crafted by a master weaver it will grace any home subtly and harmoniously.

Vintage from the 1950's, the colors are still vibrant and eye catching.  Totally vegetably dyed the colors in this hand-made kilim, which is naturally-dyed, have aged wonderfully and grace this masterpiece of weaving today.  A sought after class of Caucasion art, Armenian's.  It is in totally immaculate condition, clearly having never been used as floor decor. This Karpet (Armenians call kilims either Karpets or by the Kurdish name Yamani) bears a signature or inscription at the bottom of the karpet, common amongst Armenian artifacts and kilims. THE CONDITION OF THIS KILIM IS EXCELLENT 100% A1

Extraordinary Vintage KURDISH TRIBAL Kilim/Jajim/Sumak Circa. 1950's. This is a VINTAGE extraordinary KURDISH SOFRA "Table Cover' KILIM also sometimes classified as Kilim/Cicim/Jajim weaving from the Eastern part of Turkey.  It has beautiful handknotted tasselling at each end in a multitude of colors.        In this type/style of weaving the designs on the back of the rug are an exact replica of the designs on the front. There are 3 distinct patterns of weaving in this Kilim, firstly interwoven flatweave (Kilim Style), then a macrame style and thirdly embroidery or Sumak which makes this extraordinarily interesting and captivating. The colors and motifwork of cerise, reds, blues and burnt orange hues are superbly bright and vibrant. This is a very lovely example of Kurdish nomadic weaving, in pristine condition.  THE CONDITION OF THIS PIECE IS EXCELLENT 100% A1
